Intravenous infusion of zidovudine during delivery has been a key component in efforts to prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission, but it may not offer significantly additional protection for women with undetectable viral load, researchers reported in the September 15, 2013, edition of Clinical Infectious Diseases .
