University of Minnesota physicians will perform the world's first cord blood transplant, which if successful, is designed to cure a pediatric patient of HIV/AIDS. The transplant is scheduled for Tuesday and will take place at the University of Minnesota's Amplatz Children's Hospital, according to the university.
