Perinatally HIV-infected adolescents may be susceptible to aggregate atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk, as measured by the Pathobiological Determinants of Atherosclerosis in Youth coronary arteries and abdominal aorta risk scores, due to prolonged exposure to HIV and antiretroviral therapy.
