Why public silence from Dept. of Public Health on 3 meningitis deaths?

When the press release went out yesterday announcing that the LA County Department of Public Health had changed their recommendations on gay men, men who have sex with men and those with HIV/AIDS getting meningitis vaccines , nearly every news organization ran with what was disgorged without question, parroting Public Health's headline.
